Weet-Bix Camping Hot Cross Buns

    The perfect fuss-free family snack, with the goodness of Weet-Bix and So Good to make and enjoy outdoors that ticks all the boxes - healthy, practical and delicious.

    Ingredients

    • 20 Weet-Bix™ wheat biscuits
    • 1 tsp cinnamon
    • 3/4 tsp allspice
    • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1/4 tsp of salt
    • 1 cup So Good™ Soy Milk Regular
    • 6 tbs extra virgin olive oil
    • 1 cup sultanas
    • ½ cup flour
    • 4 tbs water
    • Apricot jam, to glaze and serve

    Method

    1. Step 1

      Place Weet-Bix into a large bowl and crush. Add spices, baking powder and salt. Mix to combine.
    2. Step 2

      Make a well in the centre of the Weet-Bix mixture and mix in So Good Milk and oil until combined. Stir in sultanas.
    3. Step 3

      Tip mixture onto a chopping board or table and knead gently. Shape into one large bun or 10-12 smaller buns.
    4. Step 4

      Mix flour and water together in a small plastic bag until smooth paste forms. Seal bag and slice off the tip of one corner and pipe crosses onto the damper.
    5. Step 5

      Place into foil trays, cover and cook on fire or place in a camp stove. Cook for 30 minutes. Remove from heat, glaze with jam, serve and enjoy.
