Pizza Pinwheels with Vegie Hot Dogs

    Ingredients

    • 3 sheets of wholemeal puff pastry or reduced fat puff pastry
    • 3 tbsp (60ml) No Added Salt tomato paste
    • 1 clove garlic, crushed
    • 1 tsp dried oregano
    • ½ cup mixed finely chopped pizza vegetables (capsicum, mushroom, olives, pineapple)
    • 75g grated reduced fat mozzarella cheese 
    • 1 pack of Vegie DelightsHot Dogs

    Method

    1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.  Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.  
    2. In a small bowl, combine the tomato paste, garlic and oregano and stir to mix well. 
    3. Use the back of a spoon to spread 1/3 of the tomato mix over 1 sheet of the pastry. 
    4. Sprinkle the pastry sheet evenly with 1/3 of the vegetables and the cheese. 
    5. Lay 2 Vegie DelightsHot Dogs along pastry and roll pastry to wrap around the hot dogs.  Use a little water to seal the edge of the pastry sheet once all rolled.  Cut the sausage roll evenly into 8 pieces. 
    6. Repeat with remaining pastry, vegetables, cheese and Vegie DelightsHot Dogs.
    7. Lay the pinwheel pieces centre side up on the baking trays.  Cook for 15 minutes or until golden brown. 

    Tips

    These are great for lunchbox treats or snacks or party food.  Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days. 

    AIRFRYER: 

    These pinwheels can also be cooked in an air fryer.  Cook on 180°C for 8 minutes.
