Almond butter is very expensive to buy yet it is so easy to make. Once you have made this, you may never buy it again.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw almonds
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Method

  1. Place almonds onto a tray and roast in a moderate oven, 180°C, for 10 minutes. Cool.
  2. Place almonds in a food processor and process until 'meal' like. Add cinnamon.
  3. Continue to process until the desired consistency is reached.

Tips

  • Use a food processor with a good quality motor for the best results.
  • Homemade almond butter can be stored up to 4 weeks in fridge (but will only last that long if you hide it from the kids!).
