These falafel balls will make an awesome contribution to a Mezze platter combined with hummus, olives, chargrilled eggplant or capsicum and flatbreads. Perfect for entertaining, they're so easy to make and full of flavour and colour.

  • 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 small brown onion, diced
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 425g can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • 2 shallots, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped mint
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried chilli flakes
  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
