Celebrating over a decade of Giving with Christmas Box
How Sanitarium and Christmas Box lift families up with kindness and care
Since 2014, Sanitarium has proudly partnered with Christmas Box to help bring the joy of Christmas to families facing hardship. Guided by our purpose of helping Kiwis eat well and live well, we’re committed to making a positive difference in the communities we serve and supporting healthier, happier lives. That commitment is reflected in our ongoing involvement with initiatives like Christmas Box, where generosity, care and community come together during the most meaningful time of the year.
Who is Christmas Box?
Christmas Box began in 2001 with a simple goal: to help families who are struggling see the joy of Christmas.
Fast-forward to 2026 and it has grown into one of New Zealand’s largest charities. They do this by creating Christmas boxes. Each box is filled with around 20 essential pantry items and festive treats, bringing help, hope and a brighter Christmas to families in need.
Since 2001, 286,369 boxes have been distributed across New Zealand and the South Pacific, impacting 1,431,845 people.

What Difference are Sanitarium and Christmas Box Making Together?
For over a decade, we have donated Weet-Bix to Christmas Box, bringing hope and a nourishing meal to families when times are a little tough.
By donating Weet-Bix, which has been a part of family tables for generations, gives households a simple breakfast packed with wholegrains and trusted nutrition.
Along with the donations of Weet-Bix, our employees donate their time and contribute to the corporate Christmas Box packing day in Auckland.
Christmas is a time of giving and hope, and that spirit is always reflected in the Sanitarium volunteers who take part in the corporate Christmas Box packing day.
We hope to make an impact for families across New Zealand, one Christmas Box at a time.
