Sanitarium named Woolworths Supplier of the Year
Sanitarium Health Food Company has been named 2020 Supplier of the Year by major retail trading partner Woolworths.
Commenting on the award Woolworths Director of Buying, Paul Harker said “Sanitarium shares our ambition to support the wellbeing of the communities we serve, continuing to develop new healthier options across the grocery aisles."
“Sanitarium’s dedication to customers also drove their rapid response in the early stages of the pandemic. Their teams quickly consolidated production and pack sizes to keep up with demand and ensure their products made it to our shelves as quickly as possible.”
Woolworths also thanked Sanitarium for its commitment to food security during the pandemic, with Sanitarium the first supplier to support its Basics Box initiative that provided vulnerable Australians with ongoing access to pantry essentials while panic buying ravaged supermarket aisles.
Sanitarium’s Cordell Van Heerden was also recognised as a finalist in the National Account Manager of the Year category.
Sanitarium Health Food Company, Executive General Manager, Todd Saunders said:
“It’s a real privilege to lead such a positive, hard-working group of people who collectively turn up and make incredible things happen every day. Being recognised by Woolworths as Supplier of the Year is testament to their outstanding efforts and the truly special culture we have here that unites us behind our founding purpose.”
“2020 has been undeniably challenging, but our unwavering commitment to feed the nation and care for our communities during this crisis has seen us emerge on the other side stronger than ever.”
This year Sanitarium launched UP&GO No Added Sugar and UP&GO Dairy Free providing consumers with more healthy options in the breakfast aisle, while its Weet-Bix wholegrain cereal range continued its commitment to best-in-category nutrition. Innovation in dairy-free milks saw So Good grow its category leadership, adding a new So Good Barista range and So Good High Protein to the portfolio.
More than 80% of Sanitarium products have a Health Star Rating of 4 or more and in September, Sanitarium was named among the top 3 healthiest brands at the supermarket by the annual The State of Food Supply report published by The George Institute.
Established in 1898 Sanitarium is Australia’s original health food company. It remains 100% Australian owned and manufactures its products at factories in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. Sanitarium directly employs more than 800 Australians.
